Wake Forest is home to The Wireless Research Center (WRC), an independent non-profit, 501(c)(3), research organization, with a unique focus on wireless technology development, innovation, and commercialization.

Customer Base

The WRC's global customer base produces a diverse range of wireless products ranging from transceivers to medical devices and rural broadband.  WRC fosters collaboration among industry partners, academic institutions and research organizations, and is a CTIA-certified testing facility.

Current customers include IoT integrators, mobile device developers, antenna design integrators, wireless network designers, UAV developers, defense contractors, and universities/researchers.

Wake Forest Development RIoT Labs

RIoT, an economic development initiative of the Wireless Research Center, represents a network of technologists, engineers, business leaders, academics, policy makers, and entrepreneurs, all of whom have a stake in the Internet of Things industry.  Through the network created by RIoT, companies ranging from startups to international heavyweights meet frequently to exchange ideas, learn new technologies, and thereby create new opportunities.
